Resources

Here are a few resources I have found very useful.

I will update these as the podcast continues and if I find anymore!

www.brcachat.com

This site the wonderful Christen Williams @BRCAChatter has created to help those with a BRCA mutation. Filled with lots of useful information, blogs, vlogs and a fab masectomy gallery!

Understanding BRCA

Clarissa Foster has done great work as a BRCA mutant herself in raising awareness about BRCA. She has written a book and has a fab website full of useful info.

NHS

This NHS page has a lot of information about the predictive genetic test as well as general BRCA info.

NICE Guidelines

The NICE guidelines are brilliant for a variety of information. Here is the link specifically for BRCA and genetic cancers but do use the search tool for more specific requests.

The Manchester Score

Here is a link to the Manchester Score which is the tool clinicians use to determine whether or not you qualify for a genetic test. This pdf is provided through Guys Regional Genetics but is the same tool used nationwide at present.

National Cancer Institute

This BRCA fact sheet is a great resource from the National Cancer Institute with lots of information, facts and figures.

PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service)

PALS is an amazing resource to know about. Susan in Episode 2 mentioned PALS and remembering that if you feel you are not getting the care you should be they are a great contact to ensure you are.
